Reel Short Editing
I was a full time editor for Reel Short for a little over a year and a half. In that time, I edited countless shows. The format was 1.5 minutes per episode, often assigned around 20 episodes per show. These had to be brought to a fully polished edit with SFX and music over the course of about a week. I have included links to 4 of the shows I am most proud o, followed by links to some of the others.
Private School Playboys
Private School Playboys - Of all the shows I edited at Reel Short, I am most happy with this one. I had not edited a straightforward comedy for ReelShort yet, so felt a true calling to get expresive with the editing. The producer of the show actually messaged me themselves to tell me how hard he laughed at some of my choices.
My Sister Is The Warlord Queen
My Sister The Warlord Queen - One of the most popular shows I edited, I was assigned with the final 20 episodes, which was essentially one long conversation between our heroes and villains. So the challenge for me was to differentiate each episode from the next, so it wouldn't feel like a slog.
The Summer My Heart Stopped
The Summer My Heart Stopped - Once again I was tasked with the final 25 episods of the show. This story was a bit different than other Reel Short shows. It was very psychological, about a character losing his mind and hallucinating the presence of a long lost love. I got very experimental trying to portray his mental state, using jump cuts and match cuts, really trying to add layers to his POV.
The Adjuster
The Adjuster - Based on real life events, The Adjuster was the closest I came to editing a straight forward thriller at Reel Short. Cuts, music and general flow had to carry that paranoid anxiety felt by the protagonist.
